- When is the best time to take Klean Antioxidant?
It is recommended to take 3 capsules of Klean Antioxidant with a meal.
- Why is biotin included in this product? Isn’t it usually for hair, skin and nails?
Biotin is important for maintaining optimal levels of metabolites utilized for energy production in the mitochondria. The molecular structure of biotin is similar to that of alpha lipoic acid, one of the principal ingredients in Klean Antioxidant. As a consequence of this structural similarity, an excess of alpha lipoic acid can compete with or displace biotin from its cognate enzyme, according to experimental evidence from cell and animal studies. For this reason, biotin has been added to offset a potential imbalance. Biotin is important for including in gluconeogenesis and fatty acid synthesis.‡
- Is the PEAK ATP® similar to Creatine?
Peak ATP® is the oral form of adenosine-5’-triphosphate, the major source of cellular energy. It has been shown to support peak physical performance through increasing strength, power, and muscle gain. Creatine supports muscle strength, performance and recovery. It can support energy production through regeneration of adenosine-5’-diphosphate to ATP®.‡
- How are the BCAAs sourced?
BCAAs are derived from fermentation from non-GMO corn starch.
- What is the source of the Collagen?
The source of the collagen in Klean Collagen+C is bovine.
- Is the collagen in Klean Collagen+C type II?
Klean Collagen+C contains bovine gelatin, which is naturally a mix Type I and Type III collagen. Type II collagen is naturally found in chicken collagen. It could contain Type II but is not standardised.
- Is this going to impact my kidneys?
- How much should I take of Klean Electrolytes?
As a dietary supplement, take one to three capsules prior to, during, and after intense or prolonged exercise. The following are merely guidelines and one should consult with a coach, trainer or health professional for individualised dosing:
- Weight <135 lbs: 1 capsule per hour during activity, 1 capsule after activity
- Weight 135-200 lbs: 1 capsule prior to activity, 1-2 capsules per hour of activity,1-2 capsules after activity
- Weight >200 lbs: 1 capsule prior to activity, 2-3 capsules per hour of activity, 2-3 capsules after activity
- Can I take this and Klean Hydration at the same time?
Klean Electrolytes and Klean Hydration may be taken together or separate depending on the individual athlete’s duration and frequency of exercise.
- What is the difference between Klean Electrolytes and Klean Hydration?
Klean Hydration consists of 6% carbohydrates with additional minerals for the replacement of fluid and electrolytes lost through sweat during physical activity. Whereas Klean Electrolytes replenishes important minerals in the body during or after exercise.‡
Klean Hydration is electrolyte-based powder that you mix with water versus Klean Electrolyte which is a more concentrated vegetarian capsule form of electrolytes.
- When should I take Klean Endurance?
Take 1-3 chewable tablets just before (within 15-30 minutes), during activity (1-3 chews every 60 minutes) and just after physical activity. Best taken with a food or a sugar/glucose source to prevent low blood sugar from occurring.‡
- How is this different than Klean BCAA +PEAK ATP®?
Klean Endurance may be taken with Klean BCAA + PEAK ATP®. Klean Endurance is a useful dietary supplement to help the athlete restore energy, support cardiac function and reduce muscle stiffness, soreness, and fatigue.‡
- Should I take this or Klean BCAA+ PEAK ATP®?
Klean BCAA + PEAK ATP® provides only the amino acids to be delivered to skeletal muscle for direct synthesis and repair. It also provides a direct source of energy for performance and recovery. Klean Essential Aminos + HMB provides the 9 essential amino acids with β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB). HMB® is a metabolite of L-leucine, and supports lean muscle mass by increasing protein synthesis, and decreasing muscle protein break down. Klean Essential Aminos + HMB is designed to support healthy muscle mass and provide muscle building support. It also supports patients who may be going into surgery that are not able to exercise or are on bed rest for an extended period of time.‡
- What exactly does HMB do?
In resting conditions, higher amino acid concentrations in plasma have a stimulatory effect on protein synthesis. Immediately after exercising, this effect of increased availability of amino acids on protein synthesis is exaggerated compared with the resting condition. Among the amino acids, essential amino acids (EAAs) are primarily responsible for the regulation of muscle protein synthesis. Leucine, in particular, plays an important role in that process. Calcium β-Hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate-monohydrate(HMB) is a metabolite of leucine that decreases protein breakdown under conditions of physiological stress, in part by modulating the ubiquitin proteasome proteolytic pathway. Several studies have indicated that HMB also stimulates protein synthesis through the activation of the mTOR pathway. Research involving physically active adults showed that subjects who supplemented with HMB increased their anaerobic power by 54% over training alone. Although leucine offers similar benefits to HMB in increasing protein synthesis, HMB is more potent than leucine for promoting strength gains due to the additional benefit HMB provides in decreasing protein breakdown. Additionally, as approximately 5% of leucine is converted to HMB, consuming 60 grams of leucine would yield 3 grams of HMB.‡

- What and from where is the whey sourced and are they grass fed cows?
Raw milk to make whey originates from various countries: US, New Zealand, Denmark, UK where cows are both pasture-fed and supplemental fed when needed. The milk is rBST-free, rBGH-free, and antibiotic-free.
- Is Klean Isolate lactose free?
Klean Isolate is lactose free.
- Is the dosage of melatonin safe to take?
Klean Melatonin provides 3mg of melatonin per 2 sprays, which is considered safe and generally well tolerated. You can always decrease the dosage to 1.5mg with 1 spray.
- Should I take Klean Melatonin every night?
Klean Melatonin may be taken every night for a short term, or as a single dose.
- Is there iron in Klean Multivitamin?
Klean Multivitamin does not contain iron.
- Why is the calcium so low?
- Klean Multivitaminis a 2-tablet serving. Calcium is a large molecule and would increase the serving size.
- What is the source of the Omega?
Klean Omega is sourced from wild caught anchovy and sardines from the coast of Chile.
- Will Klean Omega make me burp?
Klean Omega is a clean, pure fish oil which has not been shown to cause a fishy burp. Taking Klean Omega with a meal will decrease any possibility of this experience.
- What is the source of the probiotics?
The medium on which the probiotics are grown is proprietary. We have provided a written statement that the medium is free from the 8 major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soy).
- Why were these probiotic strains selected?
The strains in Klean Probiotic are of lactoabacillus and Bifidobacterium genera, and is specifically formulated to contain eight probiotic strains to support gastrointestinal and immune health. Probiotic Lactobacillusacidophilus La-14 produces compounds called bacteriocins that compete with other bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and can withstand pH ranging from 2.0 to 12.0, which may enhance probiotic colonisation and contribute to a healthy gut microbiota. Supplementation with Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lr-32 has been shown to help maintain healthy oral microbial balance, suggesting its role in maintaining oral care. In a clinical trial, supplementation with at least 1 billion CFU of Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 was shown to support healthy digestion. Under stress, interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β) and tumour necrosis factor(TNF-α) are released. Bifidobacterium longum Bb-02 has been shown to positively modulate these factors in vivo, thus suggesting support for immune function. An in vitro study comparing nine probiotic strains reported that Streptococcus thermophilus was most effective in supporting healthy microbial balance.
- Does this product require refrigeration?
Klean Probiotic is specifically formulated to be shelf-stable in dry, cool temperatures.
- Why are there so many carbs and only 10g protein?
Klean Recovery supports optimal glycogen uptake and muscle protein synthesis immediately after a workout or competition. Nutrient timing is crucial to an athlete’s recovery and muscle tissue repair following endurance or resistance exercise. Intense, prolonged exercise depletes muscle and liver stores of glycogen. The results of several studies in animals and humans suggest that post exercise muscle glycogen storage can be enhanced with a carbohydrate-protein supplement as a result of the interaction of carbohydrate and protein on insulin secretion. The International Society of Sports Nutrition’s position on nutrient timing suggests that a carbohydrate to protein ratio of 3–4:1 supports glycogen re-synthesis during acute and subsequent bouts of endurance exercise. The nutrient profile of Klean Recovery mimics this ratio.‡
- It is common knowledge that beta alanine causes paresthesia; will this product do the same?
Klean SR Beta-Alanine contains CarnoSyn® in a sustained beta-alanine release, which delivers the same overall effect, but with little to no paresthesia-related symptoms.
- Is there caffeine included in this product?
Klean SR Beta-Alanine is not caffeinated.
- If there is vitamin D in Klean Multivitamin do I also need to take this?
Additional vitamin D may support immune health, musculoskeletal strength, and physical performance.‡
- Is 5,000 IU of vitamin D safe?
Vitamin D has been safely used in a wide range of doses. Vitamin D at a 5,000 IU dose may be effective for short term use. We recommend consulting with a healthcare practitioner to determine if this dose is a good fit for your nutritional needs.
